Potpourri

I updated my web site with some more headers in the Retro Gallery. I also added a new UI section to the Gallery. I compiled some of the User Interface and mini-game/activity artwork I created for the video game projects I worked on in the past.

For the video game titles I worked on, I created and implemented the majority of the UI. Even with the licensed properties I worked on, there was plenty of flexibility with creative elements and what I could do. Sometimes, a style guide was provided (as in the DreamWorks properties) and I worked within and beyond those elements. For these samples, the work presented is all mine. I created most of these assets in Adobe Illustrator and a few things with a 3D program. The sheer volume of assets I created is staggering, as during production, I was the producer and focusing on many other tasks at the same time.

BUT, it was all very fun. At times overwhelming... but still fun. With many of the games, I totally got inspired with the look of the UI and what I wanted to do. Additionally, over the years, I really sped up my production process in creating and processing these assets.

The samples presented on my web site are the tip of the iceberg as I couldn’t include everything. Also, I purposefully omitted artwork that I got elsewhere - either the in-game assets or style guide items.
