OK, so I’ve been living and working in California for almost six months now. I got a job at Motor Vehicle Software Corporation as “Multimedia & Graphic Designer.” I have enjoying myself soooo much. Essentially, it’s a marketing position and I find myself doing everything from documentation, designing print materials, UI design and a whole lot more. This job was made for me and it’s EXACTLY what I had been wanting to do for several years as I was fed up with the demands of video game work. Essentially, I had a good time working on video games but it’s SOOOOO nice to leave it all in the rear view mirror. What I’m doing at MVSC is what I wanted to do for the past 5 years.

AND the biggest change - I have a life now. I don’t have to work 12 hours a day or stay until midnight. It wasn’t like that ALL the time at my previous job, but it sure is nice to leave at 5PM every day.

PLUS - my parents are nearby. We live in the same town.

Marc and I are renting a condo for the moment. We sold our house in Seattle last summer before I found out we’d be moving to California. We rented a horrible apartment in Wedgewood for a few months but had to break the lease to make the move down here. (The apartment was actually nice - brand new - but, we just weren’t ready for apartment living again.) We’ll be looking for houses this summer.

In the meantime, besides being busy:

  1. •I just got a new MacBook Pro w/Retina Display - the top of the line model. $200 less than what I would have paid just a month ago. I LOVE it. It’s soooo cool and soooo fast.

  2. •Music-wise - Really digging Cayucas and looking forward to their full release in April.

  3. •Learning a ton of new software including: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Muse, Constant Contact and more.

  4. •I’m gonna re-do my website here in a few weeks.

  5. •Been playing some PS3 and PS Vita. I really got into Darksiders II.

  6. •Pepper got a bath a couple of months ago.
